In early 2012, Myles Munro and Daragh Kan ate their way through as many food trucks and burger joints in San Francisco, New York, Austin and Miami as they could. They’d been running the Mercat Cross Hotel for a few years and were looking to launch their pub’s food offering with something interesting.
Blown away by what they saw in America, the pair came back to Melbourne and immediately started plans for building a food truck to put inside the foyer of the pub. But there was one issue: the doorway was too small to fit the truck through.
Undeterred, they took out a lease on an old mechanic’s warehouse around the corner and put the truck there. After toying with a dozen or so cuisines, Daragh and Myles decided a burger truck was the way to go. The next few months saw hundreds of burger tastings, lengthy searches for the ideal bakers, cheesemakers and local producers, and countless taste-tests with family and friends, until they finally created their perfect burger. And, in October 2012, Mr Burger was born.
From west to east (and in between), Mr Burger has expanded all over Melbourne, feeding the neighbourhood’s desires for damn tasty burgers, made without compromise

CHRISTMAS RUN COURSE
5K AND 10K COURSE
The Emma & Tom’s Christmas run is held at Albert Park lake. Run around the picturesque Albert Park lake taking in the gardens, water views and boat sheds. The run will start at Palms Lawn at Albert Park Lake and run in an anti-clockwise direction around Albert Park Lake – 1 lap for 5km and 2 laps for 10km.
The course is fast, flat and fully accessible course – a mixture of concrete paths, gravel paths and sand. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud/leaves or puddles in wet weather.
Donate a gift to those in need.
This year, the Emma & Tom’s Christmas Run is working with The Unite Project & The Salvation Army to spread the Christmas spirit to those in need.
How you can participate & gift a gift:
If you’d like to get involved, we’re gathering up Christmas Gifts for The Salvation Army to distribute to teenagers and “tweens” in need.
There is usually an influx of children’s gifts, so we would love any kind of gifts for teenagers (eg. beach gear, sporting goods – basketballs, cricket sets, tennis racquets, toiletries & makeup, gift cards (eg. iTunes, JB HiFi)). Please no soft toys or second-hand goods.
All you need to do then is place the gift under the Christmas Tree when you come along to the Christmas Run. We kindly ask that all gifts remain unwrapped.
About The Unite Project:
At The Unite Project our mission is simple; end youth homelessness Australia wide.
Through the sale of our bottled water we are helping young Aussies doing it tough by addressing the main causes of youth homelessness; domestic violence, drug abuse and poverty.
We support the work carried out by Australia’s best non-profit organisations with the goal to change the landscape of youth homelessness in our country for good.
The Unite Project and The Cotton On Group are proud to join forces with Emma & Tom’s to join the fight against youth homelessness– one bottle at a time.
