The Run Melbourne Friendship Dash is a free, family friendly community event for people

of all ages to get involved in a fun, non-competitive “run” the day before the big event,

Run Melbourne presented by lululemon on Sunday 30th July.


Let’s kick off Run Melbourne weekend and come together as one to walk, skip, run or jog along the Yarra River

to experience the excitement of Run Melbourne and celebrate the city of Melbourne and its people.

 

The event is free, non-competitive and untimed. All participants will receive a commemorative bracelet

that celebrates Friendship & Run Melbourne.

PLEASE NOTE: The Friendship Dash is a non-competitive, non-marked course. Participants will NOT be timed.run, walk, dash, or dance.

Enjoy a scenic 3k (approximate) run,walk, dash or jog over William Barak Bridge, around Melbourne’s iconic MCG,before heading back to Birrarung Marr and taking in spectacular views of the city.




About Birrarung Marr & the Run Melbourne Event Village

Birrarung Marr spans three ‘terraces’ – with the Friendship Dash starting and finishing on the lower terrace. Enjoy scenic views to various Melbourne landmarks such as the spires of the Victorian Arts Centre and St Paul’s Cathedral.

ON SATURDAY 29TH JULY.

Bring down your family, friends (and even your dog!) for a day of fun after a relaxing walk/run with FREE Bungee Trampoline, Yoga, Face Painting, shopping at the lululemon Showcase Store and more!

Participants will receive refreshments and Zespri Kiwifruit at the finish line and are welcome to checkout food and drink options available including a Coffee Cart & Coon Cheese Toasties.


The Run Melbourne Friendship Dash is a free, non-competitive family friendly event and entry to the Event Village is available to all members of the public.

Things you should know

PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS: 

Please download your Run Melbourne Friendship Dash 2017, presented by lululemon Participant Instructions here.

Can I enter on the event day?

We will be taking entries on the day at the ‘Entries’ marquee at Federation Square from 8:00am. If you are planning on entering on the day, please arrive early to avoid queues and ensure you have enough time to drop off your clothes and prepare before the event starts. Please note that late fees will apply.

Is there a minimum age to participate?

There is no minimum age.

What if I can no longer participate?

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive, the organiser if you are unable to run for any reason.

Where can I collect my Race Pack (Race bib)?

Race Packs will be available for collection from the Sole Motive store (170, Queen Street) on Friday, 28 July from 9:30am – 6:00pm. If you can’t pick up your race pack from the store during that time you can collect it from 8.00am at the Race Pack Marquee at Federation Square on Saturday, 29 July.

Please note: no Race Packs will be posted (even if you’ve entered Run Melbourne).

Where can I leave my bag?

Clothing storage will be available at the event site at Federation Square. You will need to attach the tear off strip on the bottom of your race number to the handle of your bag so that we can locate your clothing after the race. Please do not leave any valuables in bags.

Can I bring my dog to run/walk with me?

Absolutely! The more the merrier. Just make sure your dog is on a lead at all times during the event. You will also be required to start at the back of the field so that you don’t get your dog’s lead tangled up in other runner’s legs.

Can I push a pram in the event?

Prams are permitted however entrants who bring along a pram are asked to start at the rear of the last wave start for their event.

What do I wear?

A race bib, commemorative Friendship Dash bracelet and family friendly activities at the start & finish lines.
