PUSH YOUR LIMITS
The Sandy Point Half Marathon is held along the streets of Melbourne’s iconic bayside, starting at Green Point, Brighton. Held on Sunday 9 September 2018, the event offers three distances (Half-Marathon, 10k, 5k) and a bonus 3k kids run as you run along Beach Road. Stunning views of Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay will help you stay motivated to cross the finish line.

What are my options if I cannot participate?
You do not have to notify Sole Motive, the organiser if you are unable to run for any reason.
However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers. We do offer a credit note, or you can change your distance. If you would like to change your distance please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to withdraw and would like a credit note (minus $10 for administration fees) please email email@example.com by 5:00pm Friday 31 August 2018. After this time no credit notes will be offered. Credit notes are valid for Sole Motive events only and are valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
Please note: Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances.
3km kids run minimum age
4 years old – 14 years old. Children aged 5 years and under (on Sunday, 9 September 2018) must be accompanied around the course by a guardian. Guardians do not need to enter the event and participate free of charge.
Participant instructions will be released 2 weeks prior to the event.
Race Day Information
Clothing storage is available during the run/walk. Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag (plastic bags are available if needed). Do not leave any valuables in the clothing bags as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
There will be drink stations located both on course and at the finish line.
Food and beverage
Following your run/walk, join us in the event village and grab some food and beverages from our onsite vendors.
Runner's World Pace Leaders
Join a pace team to help meet your desired time goal! Pace leaders will be present for the 5KM run, 10KM run and Half-marathon distances.
The pace groups offered are as follows:
5KM PACE TIMES: 25 mins, 30 mins
10KM PACE TIMES: 40 mins, 45mins, 50mins, 55 mins, 60 mins, 70 mins
HALF MARATHON PACE TIMES: 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10
Pace leaders will be running on ‘gun time’, and will start in the suitable wave to that distance. Pacers will be wearing a balloon and race number with the goal time displayed for easy visibility.
The first three males and first three females in the 5km, 10km and 21km runs will be presented with their medals on the morning of the event (based on gun time, so first three across the line).
All Kids Run participants receive a medal and a time however no place getter medals are awarded as the event is to encourage participation.
Aerobics warm up
An aerobics warm up will commence 20 minutes prior to the start of each race.
Race Pack Postage & Collection Options
Race Pack Postage and Collection
There are three options to collect your race kit:
Option 1 – Postage: If you wish to have your race pack posted to you, you must register before 9:00am, Monday 27th August. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup from Sole Motive:
If you wish to “collect from the Sole Motive store”, you must register before 9:00am, Wednesday 29th August. Race packs will be available for collection from 10:00am, Thursday 30th August until Midday on Friday 7th September 2018.
Option 3 – Pickup on race day:
If you chose to pickup your race pack from the event site, you can at the RACE PACK COLLECTION marquee on Saturday 8th September 2018 between 2:00pm and 5:00pm or alternatively on the morning of the event from 5.45am.
