In order to reach your goals, you need to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. If you’re not sure where to start with your training, you’ve come to the right place.

We know everyone is running their own “race”, what looks like success for you – may be different to your best friend. Find yours and commit to a new challenge.


GOAL SETTING

The reason we encourage you to enter an event early as it gives you a reason to train.
Follow our top tips to stay on track of your goals:

A good goal means something to you.


Your goals should mean something to you, and be things you want to achieve for yourself – not to meet other’s expectations.


Be specific.


There’s something to be said about the old saying, ‘Goals should be SMART’. The ‘S’ stands for Specific and there’s a reason why – base your goals on something tangible, be it time/value based goal or raising money for charity.


Challenging, yet realistic.


You want to set the bar higher for yourself, but not make it so that it’s out of reach. Be ambitious – but not too ambitious. Break down your goal, and create mini action-steps to reach it and ask yourself, can you reach your goal in time, and within your limits?

That’s why we’re banding together, gathering our winter warrior spirit and running through the tough conditions, to train for the Sandy Point Half Marathon this August.  

Every run you set out on this winter – aim to defy the odds and smash your goals. Whatever your goal may be, show your warrior spirit and remain consistent in your training, have the courage to face your fears and steel determination to never give up – even on the coldest of days.
