There are multiple ways to get involved.

Community Spirit Award

Help promote The Canberra Times Marathon Festival in the community by using the hashtags #CTMF20 on all social media posts of your team – we want to see what you’re up to in the lead up to the event and on race weekend!

The team with the best community spirit in the lead up to the event and during the festival weekend will win a prize (TBC).

Distance Challenge

How many km’s can your team clock up? 

The team that runs the furthest distance across The Canberra Times Marathon Festival will win a trophy and event prize pack (TBC).

We will add up how many team members you have registered in each distance. The team with the greatest total distance will win!

TEAM MARQUEES

Relax and socialise with your team members post run in a premium marquee located within the Event Village. There are two options available to suit the needs of your team at The Canberra Times Marathon Festival.

Marquee Packages

Choose from a 3m x 5.5m
or 6m x 5.5m space.

BYO Tent

This area is located along the Old Parliament House side of the finish line.

There are two options available to suit the needs of your team at The Canberra Times Marathon Festival:

• Option 1 (4-10 people): 3m x 5.5m space
• Option 2 (10+ people): 6m x 5.5m space

We can also customise your package and discuss options for larger groups.

BYO Tent

The BYO tent area is located along the Old Parliament House side of the finish line.
The following conditions apply:

Spaces are on a first in basis with no reserving.

Installation of marquees is available from:

Friday 3 April 2020 – 9:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday 4 April 2020 – 12:00pm to 4:00pm

There is a limit of 6m of fence line that can be taken up by any one team.

All marquees must be weighted down and left lowered overnight.

Weights must be brought by the marquee owner or can be hired at an additional cost through Sole Motive (please notify event organisers of your requirement of weights when booking in your marquee).

You may install your marquee for either one day (Saturday or Sunday) or for the entire event weekend. Please lower your marquee overnight to reduce risk in high winds.

Overnight security will be monitoring the site, however whilst all care is taken, Sole Motive take no responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur.

HOW DO i JOIN A TEAM

To join an existing team, you must register as an ‘INDIVIDUAL’, then select ‘I’M PART OF A TEAM’. You will then be prompted to search for your team’s name.

Click ‘Join’ next to your team’s name and complete your registration.

HOW DO I JOIN A TEAM AFTER I'VE REGISTERED?​

Click here to access your registration. You’ll be sent an email from Register Now – click ‘Access’. You will be taken to your current registration. From here, click ‘+ Join Team’ next to ‘Team Details’.

How to create a team

This is a great option for smaller teams (> 10 people). To create a team, you must be the first person to register for the event. To get started, click on the ‘REGISTER‘ button on the website and follow the steps below.
  1. Under ‘Registration Type’, select ‘Create Team’, then click ‘Continue’.
  2. Create your team name and click ‘Check if available’.
  3. Once your team name has been created, click the drop down and select your ‘Team Type’.
    • Charity: a way to support a cause close to your heart while getting fit.
    • Corporate: a great team building exercise or way to challenge your colleagues. The Corporate Category can include both staff and their families and friends.
    • Family: a chance for a family reunion. Gather your family and challenge them to be part of the Canberra Times Marathon Festival.
    • Open: involves all community groups, running clubs, fitness centres or anyone else who would like to pull together a group of friends to take on the event.
    • School: includes the wider Primary and Secondary school community of students, teachers, support staff and their families.
  4. Fill in the ‘Team Administrator’ (captain) details, proceed through the remaining steps and click ‘Continue’ once completed.
  5. If you would like to add yourself or others to the team you have created, click on applicable buttons to do so (e.g. + Add Your Name to Team, or +Add someone else to Team). This will then guide you through the process to register yourself and/or others.
  6. On the ‘Team Summary’ page, under ‘Team Details’ you will be provided with a quick link that you can share with your friends/family to join your team.
  7. You can make any changes to your registration by clicking the green ‘Edit’ button.
  8. Share your team name, and password if applicable, with your team members. They will need to select ‘I’m part of a team’ and enter the team name you have created when registering (and password if applicable).

How to create a "bulk pay later" team

This is a great option for large teams (10+ people). Follow the prompts below and then send your “bulk pay later team” request via email to info@solemotive.com along with your team name and we will make it a bulk pay later team for you. To create a team, you must be the first person to register for the event. To get started, click on the ‘REGISTER‘ button on the website and follow the steps below.
  1. Under ‘Registration Type’, select ‘Create Team’, then click ‘Continue’.
  2. Create your team name and click ‘Check if available’.
  3. Once your team name has been created, click the drop down and select your ‘Team Type’.
