You don’t have to tackle the distance alone! Get your squad together and join the team relay.
Relay teams consist of 2 or 4 people who equally share the 10K distance (2 people = 5K each or 4 people = 2.5K each).

You can also sign up as a 4 person family relay team, which consists of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 5-17 years old).

tHE cOURSE

The course is a 10K distance which will start and finish at Alexandra Gardens.

You will head along Yarra Trail towards Alexandra Avenue and make a left-hand turn onto the Morell Bridge to cross the Yarra River. You will continue along the northern side of the Yarra Trail back towards the city before crossing the Sandridge Foot Bridge. You will then run along Southbank Promenade and Boat House Drive before returning to Alexandra Gardens to finish and celebrate. 

To enable people of all ages and levels of fitness to participate, the event offers a team relay. Teams consist of 2 or 4 people – equally sharing the 10K distance.

Course is subject to change.

EVENT Village

how to get there

Catch train services to Flinders Street Station.
Take the Swanston street exit from the station, and turn right. Marshals will be present to direct you to the assembly area at Alexandra Gardens.

You can also catch train services to Richmond Station and walk up Swan Street to the start line (refer to the course map).

Routes 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 & 72 all travel down St Kilda Road.

You can disembark at the Arts Centre and cross the road to get to Alexandra Gardens.

Parking is extremely limited. We strongly recommend you use public transport to get to the event.

If you’re driving please plan your route and parking location prior to the event. Road closure information will be available here closer to event day.

Clothing storage is available in the Event Village within Alexandra Gardens. Look for the ‘Bag Drop’ marquee.

Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Do not leave any valuables in your bag as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.

We no longer offer single-use plastic bags at the bag drop, so please remember to bring your own bag to the event.

Postage

If you opted to have your race pack posted to you, it will arrive in the mail between Tuesday, 10 September and 19 September.   

Sole Motive Store Collection

If you opt to collect your race pack, and register before 11:59pm 8 September, your Race Pack will be available from the Sole Motive store (170 Queen Street, Melbourne) from 12pm Thursday 17 October until 5:30pm Thursday, 24 October.

Event Village, On Day Collection

If you opt to collect your race pack, and cannot pick it up from the Sole Motive store before Thursday, 24 October, your pack will be available from the Race Pack Collection Marquee within Alexandra Gardens.

Both runners will start and finish within Alexandra Gardens.

  • Runner 1 & 2 start: Both runners start from the Event Village in Alexandra Gardens.
  • 2 PERSON RELAY TRANSITION POINT: Changeover will occur at the 5K mark located near the start line, within Alexandra Gardens.
  • Runner 1 & 2 finish: Both runners will start and finish within Alexandra Gardens.
  • Runner 1 & 3 start: Both runners 1 and 3 will start from the start line, within Alexandra Gardens.
  • Runner 1 & 3 finish: Both runner 1 & 3 will finish at Speakers Corner (4 person relay team transition point).
  • Runner 2 & 4 start: Both runners 2 & 4 will start at Speakers Corner (4 person relay team transition point). This is the 2.5K and 7.5K points respectively.
  • Runner 2 & 4 finish: Both runners 2 & 4 will finish within Alexandra Gardens.

4 PERSON RELAY TRANSITION POINTS: Changeovers will occur at the 2.5K, 5K and 7.5K mark respectively.

To get to the 4 person relay transition point (Speakers Corner) from the Event Village (Alexandra Gardens) walk along Yarra Trail, cross the Swan Street Bridge, then turn left onto Batman Avenue and continue along the footpath until you see Speakers Corner. It’s approximately a 10 minute walk between the Event Village and Speakers Corner.

It’s the same route back to the Event Village.

  1. Nominate your team captain,
  2. The team captain is the one that begins the registration process and sets up the team.​
  3. Once the team is created, the team captain must register themselves as ‘Runner 1’.​
  4. Only the team captain can pay for the team entry.
  5. The team captain can then invite other team members.
