Catch train services to Flinders Street Station. Take the St Kilda Rd exit from the station and walk to Federation Square. Be aware that the start time of the Runner’s World Half Marathon may be before your earliest train service

Routes 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67, 72 service St Kilda Rd; disembark at Federation Square.

Parking is extremely limited. We strongly recommend you use public transport to get to the event. If you’re driving please plan your route and parking location prior to the event.

Bike parking available at Federation Square alongside Flinders St, tucked in between the convenience store and ACMI at the bottom of the stairs on the synthetic grass.

*No portion of the entry fee will be donated to charity. Entry fees are used to cover the cost of staging the event.

You can register at the Friendship Dash Event Village located in Birrarung Marr on Saturday, 27 July from 8:00am – 4:00pm OR at the Run Melbourne finish line located at Birrarung Marr on Sunday, 28 July from 6:00am.

If you wish to join a team, you can do so by emailing runmelbourne@solemotive.com – please include your name, the email address you entered with and team name you wish to join.

Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons we do still require an entry form to be completed.

Run Melbourne uses ‘Realbuzz’ registrations, which offers a high level of protection and privacy for our entrants. However, there are now certain browsers and software versions that are unsupported by the Realbuzz registration system and may cause issues when attempting to register for all events. Please note the following to ensure that these issues do not occur when you are registering. Unsupported Internet Browsers include – ‘Internet Explorer 8’ and below.

Please note: Internet Explorer 9 will soon no longer be supported by our registration system.

Supported Internet Browsers include – ‘Mozilla Firefox’, ‘Google Chrome’, ‘Safari’ If you do not have any of the supported internet browsers, just click on the links below to download or type any respective browser name into Google and download one; each browser is fast to download and free.

Alternatively, any smartphone or tablet will have supported software. As a result, Run Melbourne can ensure that our users have a hassle-free experience when registering for events.

If you are still experiencing problems entering, please contact us directly on (03) 9285 0600.

If you need to change your registration details (name, distance or postage) this will incur a $10 administration fee. If you need to update your email address you can do so via the “Members Hub”. Please log back into your registration, select your event and click “View Details”.

Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, you can log into your members hub via this link: https://app.realbuzzregistrations.com/hub/.

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.

We do offer the following:

1 – Withdrawal from the event – receive a credit note: Withdrawals receive a credit note if they are made before 5:00pm, Friday 28 June 2019.  After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing and valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Refunds will not be issued. When an entrant registers, they agree to the below terms and conditions;

T&C #15. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request a credit note for other SM owned events (minus $20 for admin fees) no later than 5pm, one month prior to the event. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances. Credit notes will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.

2 – Downgrade from your race: Event downgrades can be made online up until Thursday, 25 July 2019. Please email Sole Motive runmelbourne@solemotive.com or phone (03) 9285 0600.

Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.

Your Race Pack will be available for collection from the Sole Motive Store (170 Queen Street, Melbourne) from 9:30am Friday, 5 July 2019 until 2:00pm Friday, 26 July.

WHERE CAN I COLLECT MY RACE PACK ON RACE WEEKEND?

If you can’t pick up your Race Pack from the Sole Motive Store you can collect it on race weekend at:

You will receive an email from us to confirm when your race pack is available for collection.

If you register for the event before 11:59pm Sunday, 14 July 2019 you first name will be printed on your race bib.

We strongly recommend catching public transport to and from the event. Runner’s World Half Marathon runners may have access to public transport using the night network to get to the event. View the Night Network Fact Sheet or visit the PTV Night Network website.

There are several non-ticketed parking areas on Sundays, however, these will fill quickly from 6:00am:

Alexandra Avenue (between Punt Rd and Morrell Bridge)

Once you find a park, along the Yarra and make your way to Birrarung Marr or Federation Square, please allow at least 10 minute’s walking time to get to the event site.

Fitzroy Gardens (Wellington Parade /Lansdowne St/Albert St/Clarendon St (city side only)

Once you find a park, walk to Wellington Parade Sth/Jolimont Terrace and continue down Flinders St to Federation Sq.

St Kilda Rd (Southbound lanes only North of Toorak Rd)

Once you find a park, walk along St Kilda Rd towards Federation Sq. Please allow at least 10-20 minutes walking time to get to the event site.

Paid Car Parks available:

  1. Arts Centre – access via South Bank Boulevard
  2. Federation Square Carpark – access via Russell St Extension.
  3. City Carparks

DO NOT PARK:

  • Around the Botanical Gardens
    St Kilda Rd – Northbound Lanes
  • MCG carparks are not open
  • Boathouse Drive

Bag drop is available at Federation Square (opposite the Main Stage). Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Run Melbourne accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Attach the tear-off strip on the bottom of your race bib to your bag.

Keep your race bib so that you can collect your bag post-event.

Please note, This year we’re cutting down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.

Please refer to your distance page for information on start lines and your allocated Wave Start Zone.

Please note: Wave Start Zones will be in place at the start line of each race to ensure a smooth start for all participants. Entrants are asked to assemble in the appropriate zone as indicated by the letter printed on their race bib.

We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.

No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.

The use of any type of drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is prohibited at the Event. Any person using a drone or UAV may be disqualified from the Event.

All distances have as strict course cut off time of 12pm. Cut off times are enforced to ensure the roads are re-opened in accordance with the event permits.

If you are running to lend a helping hand to someone who is unable to run without you, then please contact Sole Motive on (03) 9285 0600 or runmelbourne@solemotive.com.

All animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time.

If you’d like to run with your dog you can do so on Saturday, 27 July at the Run Melbourne Friendship Dash.

Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.

All runners in the Half-Marathon, the 10k and 5k races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all Run Melbourne participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.

Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.

Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.

Live results will be available online from www.runmelbourne.com.au.

Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2 will receive their results SMS on the evening of the event, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.

  • Half Marathon – 16 years or older on Race Day.
  • 10km – All children under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 5km – Children under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.
