Work Together

Team spirit is a driving force for race day.

Whether you want to get your workplace involved or join forces with friends, family and/or your community – it’s time to get your crew together and enter as a team.

Being part of a team is the perfect motivator for training, staying on track and getting the support you need to stay focused.

There are multiple ways to get involved:

create a team
& pay individually

Join forces with your friends, family, community and/or workmates and support each other as you take on Run Melbourne as a team.

Create a team
& Pay later in bulk

Looking to set up a corporate team? The ‘Pay in Bulk’ option is a great way to get employees involved in Run Melbourne. With this option, you’ll be able to create a team and be invoiced for your entry fees later

To create a team, you must be the first person to register for the event.

During the registration process, you will need to choose the option to ‘ENTER AS PART OF A TEAM’ by selecting ‘YES’ when asked ‘_Are you creating a team?_’. This will give you access to the details required to set up a new team.

Once you have created your team, go ahead and complete your registration. Each subsequent member can then register and join your team.

As the team manager, you can:

  • Choose whether you would like to participate; or simply manage your team.
  • Share your team name — and password if you choose to create one — with your future team members.
  • Access a unique online hub where you can view all members.

You can create a ‘pay later’ team by following the steps below:

1 – Register for Run Melbourne to create your team.

2 – During the registration process, choose the option to ‘ENTER AS PART OF A TEAM‘ by selecting ‘YES‘ when asked ‘Are you creating a team?‘.

This will give you access to the details required to set up a new team. You will then become the team manager and have the option to participate in the event; or simply manage your team.

To be invoiced for your entry fees later, make sure you tick the box that says: ‘TICK HERE IF YOU WOULD LIKE THE PAY LATER FUNCTION’. This will tell the system not to charge your team entrants at the point of entry. Instead, it will queue them for later payment.

Team passwords are not required but are strongly recommended for pay later teams (they are case sensitive).

3 – Once you’ve completed the team options, you can complete your entry.

4 – Once your entry is complete, you will be emailed a link which you can send to your team members so that they can enter the event.

*Bulk pay later teams close 14 July 2019.

NOTE: the system has been set up so that the bulk payment covers the entry fee as well as the postage fee if selected. The cost for race packs to be mailed out individually to the address provided by the entrant is $8.95 per pack.

Otherwise, race packs can be collected from our Sole Motive Store (located at 170 Queen Street in the CBD) closer to the event date.

Team entries must be finalised and paid for before race packs can be collected or mailed out. There is no race pack collection on race day.

MARQUEE packages

If you are a fitness group, school or university, be part of the Team Hub at Federation Square, and cheer on your team as they cross the finish line. It’s the perfect meeting place for your runners to gather and celebrate.

Having a marquee in the Charity Lane along River Terrace, Federation Square is a great way to raise awareness for your cause and attract participants on race day to raise extra funds for the cause you love.

Create a space for your colleagues to meet before their race and to celebrate afterwards, in the Team Hub, located at Federation Square. You can even order catering to your marquee to make you members feel extra special.
