Race Weekend Entries will be taken on the day of the event from the Event Village from 7:15am.
BY CAR: Allow 1 hour from Melbourne on the Calder Freeway. Stay on the freeway past both the Macedon and Woodend turn-offs. You will see a sign with a picture of Hanging Rock that indicates turn-off is 5km further on. You must take the ‘Woodend, Lancefield and Romsey’ turn-off from the Calder Freeway.
CAR PARKING: The car park will open from 7.00am. The only point of entry to Hanging Rock Racecourse is off South Rock Road. Once you enter Hanging Rock Reserve, please follow the directions from our marshals. Please allow enough time to park and walk to the event site.

PRE PURCHASE A RETURN BUS TICKET: Jump on-board our 48-seater return bus from Richmond Railway Station to the Event Village at Hanging Rock, and let us take care of the rest. $30 per person. Limited spots available. Purchase your ticket here before 11:59pm Thursday, 28 March or before the bus is sold out.

Online registrations open on Saturday, 22 December 2019 and close 11:59pm Thursday, 28 March 2019.
Entries will be taken on the day of the event from the Event Village (Hanging Rock Racecourse) from 7:15am.
I HAVE A TODDLER - DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM?
I have a toddler – do I have to pay for them?
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons we do still require an entry form to be completed.
MY CHILD IS RUNNING THE 2K - CAN I RUN WITH THEM?
My child is running the 2K Kids run – can I run with them?
Yes, guardians of a child participating in the 2K event may run with them for free.
CAN I ENTER THE EVENT ON THE DAY?
Can I enter the event on the day?
Yes, on day registrations will be taken from the Event Village (Hanging Rock Racecourse) from 7:15am.
I'M HAVING TROUBLE ENTERING - WHAT DO I DO?
I’m having trouble entering – what do I do?
Run the Rock uses ‘Realbuzz’ registrations, which offers a high level of protection and privacy for our entrants. However, there are now certain browsers and software versions that are unsupported by the Realbuzz registration system and may cause issues when attempting to register for all events
Please note the following to ensure that these issues do not occur when you are registering.
Unsupported Internet Browsers include- ‘Internet Explorer 8’ and below. Please note: Internet Explorer 9 will soon no longer be supported by our registration system.
Supported Internet Browsers include- ‘Mozilla Firefox’, ‘Google Chrome’, ‘Safari’ If you do not have any of the supported internet browsers, just click on the links below to download or type any respective browser name into Google and download one; each browser is fast to download and free. Alternatively, any smart phone or tablet will have supported software. As a result, Run Melbourne can ensure that our users have a hassle-free experience when registering for events.

I ENTERED THE WRONG DETAILS ON MY REGISTRATION
I entered the wrong details on my registration:
If you need to change your registration details (name, distance or postage) this will incur a $10 administration fee.
If you need to update your email address, you can do so via the “Members Hub”. Please log back into your registration, select your event and click “View Details”.
I CAN'T FIND OR NEVER RECEIVED MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL - CAN I HAVE IT RESENT?
I can’t find or never received my confirmation email – can I have it resent?
Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request to have your confirmation email resent.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF I ENTERED & CAN NO LONGER PARTICIPATE?
What are my options if I’ve entered but can no longer run?
You don’t have to notify Sole Motive if you are unable to run for any reason.
However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers. We do offer the following:
- A credit note for another Sole Motive event, or
- You can downgrade your distance.
- Withdraw from the event – receive a credit note:
We do offer a *credit note, or you can downgrade your distance or transfer your registration over to another participant – these offers all incur a $10 admin fee. Note: these offers are available until 5pm Friday March 22. After this point, credit notes will not be issued, but if you wish to change your distance or transfer your registration within the week of the event, you can still do by emailing email@example.com
Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing and valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Refunds will not be issued.
Downgrade from your race:
Event downgrades can be made online up until 5pm March 22. Please email Sole Motive firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (03) 9285 0600. Please note: Refunds or credit notes will not be issued if there is a difference in your entry fee.
CAN A FRIEND TAKE MY ENTRY IF I CAN NO LONGER RUN?
Can a friend take my entry if I can no longer run?
Yes, please email us at email@example.com with your request. There is a $10 admin fee to transfer your entry into someone else’s name.
HOW CAN I UPGRADE/DOWNGRADE MY RACE?
How can I upgrade/downgrade my race?
Event upgrades and downgrades can be made online up until 28th March. Please email Sole Motive firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (03) 9285 0600. After this date, any event changes must be made on the event day.
I HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED BUT WANT TO JOIN A TEAM

If you wish to join a team, you can do so via the ‘My Events Portal’. Please log back into your registration and select to ‘Join a Team.’
CAN I HAVE MY NAME ON MY BIB?
Can I have my name on my bib?
Yes, all participants who enter before 11:59pm Tuesday, 12 March 2019 will have a name on their bib.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I'VE RECEIVED MY RACE PACK & DECIDE TO NOT PARTICIPATE?
What happens if I’ve received my Race Pack and decide not to participate?
You don’t have to notify the organisers if you are unable to run for any reason. Under no circumstances may you transfer or give your race bib or timing tag to another person to use.
WHAT HAPPENS IF A LOSE MY RACE BIB?
What happens if I lose my race bib?
You will need to pick-up another Race Pack from the Event Village from 5.00pm at the Entries Marquee. All participants must wear a race number. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted to start the event.
Please note, participants who are issued a new race bib will be charged a $10 admin fee.
RACE PACK POSTAGE
All participants who enter before 11:59pm Sunday, 17 March 2019 will have the option to have their Race Pack posted to them. Anyone who enters after this time/date must collect their Race Pack.
Race Pack postage commences on Tuesday, 19 March 2019.
RACE PACK COLLECTION
If you selected Race Pack collection during the registration process and entered before 11:59pm Tuesday, 19 March 2019 you can collect your Race Pack from the following times and locations:
- Sole Motive Store (170 Queen St, Melbourne) from noon on Thursday, 21 March 2019 until 5:00pm Thursday, 28 March 2019.
- Event Village (Hanging Rock Racecourse) on Saturday, 30 March 2019 (event day) from 7:15am.
If you registered after 11:59pm Tuesday, 19 March 2019 you can only collect your Race Pack from the Event Village (Hanging Rock Racecourse) on Saturday 30 March 2019 (event day) from 7:15am.
CAN I BUY OFFICIAL EVENT MERCHANDISE?

Can I get my merchandise posted?
All merchandise orders placed before 11:59pm Sunday, 17 March 2019 will be mailed out. Any orders after this time/date must collect their merchandise.
ARE THE COURSES WHEELCHAIR & PRAM FRIENDLY?
Are the courses wheelchair and pram friendly?
Unfortunately, due to the offroad nature of all distances, it is not wheelchair friendly. All-terrain prams may be used but please be aware of the uneven ground and narrow paths at times.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
What should I wear?
Runners – comfortable running gear and shoes suited to running. Participants should be aware that some fabrics can induce chafing, which can become quite severe, especially for those in the 22K. It is advisable that you wear clothing that you have trained in and are confident that you will be able to cover the distance comfortably in.
CAN I BRING MY DOG/PET TO RUN/WALK WITH ME?
Can I bring my dog/pet to run/walk with me?
For safety reasons, animals are not permitted on the course. Note: Guide dogs are allowed.
CAN I RIDE MY BIKE ALONGSIDE A FRIEND WHO IS RUNNING?
Can I ride my bike alongside a friend who is running?
For safety reasons, bikes and rollerblades are not permitted on the course.
I HAVE A CHANCE OF WINNING - DO I NEED TO ENTER AN EARLY WAVE?
I have a chance of winning do I need to enter an early wave?
Runners and walkers will be sent off in a rolling start. If you think you have a chance of placing, please ensure you place yourself at the front of the start chute.
Placegetters will be awarded on gun time, which is the time the gun goes off until the finish i.e. the first participant across the finish line wins. If there are multiple wave starts, it is the responsibility of the participant to position themselves in the first wave/start of the start line chute, should they believe they have a chance of placing in the top ten.
If you believe you will be in the top 10 male/ top 10 female in each race category, please ensure you are close to the start line as the top three places awarded on race day are based on gun time. The decision of the Race Director is final.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS RAINING ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
What happens if it is raining the day of the event?
The event will generally go ahead rain or shine. In case of extreme weather the organisers will decide if it is safe for the event to continue.

HOW IS THE COURSE MEASURED?
How is the course measured?
The course is measured using a GPS watch.

Is available during your run. Visit our Bag Drop area inside the Event Village. You will have a tear off strip on your race bib for bag drop. Do not leave any valuables, as we can not accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
We have dramatically cut down on single-use plastics and will no longer be providing plastic bags for bag drop. Please remember to bring your own reusable bags.
WHERE ARE THE TOILETS LOCATED?
Where are the toilets located?
You will find a toilet block in the parking lot near the entry point to the Event Village. Portable toilets will also be available for use pre and post run.
WHERE WILL THE FIRST-AID STATIONS BE LOCATED?
Where are the first-aid stations located?
St John’s First Aid will be located at the finish line in the Event Village. Roving first aid teams will also be on course.
WHERE ARE THE DRINK STATIONS LOCATED?
Drink Stations are located approximately every 3km on course and at the finish line. Water will also be available for participants prior to the event in the Event Village.
Electrolyte, courtesy of our partner Bulk Nutrients, will available to the 13.5K and 22K Half Marathon runners at the corner of Millers Lane and Rochford Road, and to all participants at the corner of Colwells Road and Straws Lane, and of course at the finish line.
TIMING & RESULTS INFORMATION
WILL I BE TIMED?
Will I be timed?
We will be using the Race Result software and hardware timing system to time all runners. Your timing device is located on the back of your race bib and does not need to be returned after your race.
WHERE CAN I FIND MY RESULTS?
Where can I find my results?
Live results are available online. Official results will be available from 9am the following morning. Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results, and have paid an additional $2, will receive their results SMS on the evening of the event.
HOW WILL I BE TIMED ON DAY & WHAT IS NET TIME?
How will I be timed on the day and what is net time?
Net time is the time a participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, however, place getters are awarded on gun time, so the first person across the finish line wins.
IS THERE ANY TIME RESTRICTIONS?
Is there any time restrictions?
Yes, all participants will need to be off the course by 11:30am.
DO KIDS GET TIMED?
Do kids get timed?
Yes, all participants will be timed.
WILL I RECEIVE A MEDAL?
Will I receive a medal?
Yes, all participants will receive a medal.
