I'd describe the event as well organized, with a relaxed atmosphere, and a fast course which allows you to go for that personal best. My top tip for running the Sandy Point Half Marathon would be to arrive with plenty of time to spare and ease into the morning, the hard part is behind you.

Rosie Oldham | 2018 21K Winner | 1:27:53.5

The event has a friendly, fun, community feel to it. The event will keep you honest and on track through the dreary winter months of Melb and also serves as a great marker for how you are progressing if you're training up for Melbourne Marathon or the start of the tri season. Look out for sneaky beach road hills and blustery bay breezes (incorporate some hills into your weekly program).

Harry Norman | 2018 10K Winner | 32:45.8

The 2018 Sandy Point Half Marathon was very well organised, there was a great atmosphere for the entire race and lots of encouragement at the finish line. The course was quite fast and relatively flat the entire way, with a very slight uphill. Be aware of the sea breeze, as it can be quite strong in some spots.
