Complete a lap around the Zoo before entering its gates to run amongst the meerkats, seals, giraffes and gibbons.

WEATHER UPDATE

The event is going ahead as planned. Rain is predicted for this afternoon so be aware your feet may get wet and to take care on-course. We recommend packing spare clothing and a towel for the ride home. Your safety is our top priority – in the chance that there is a storm, we’ll be monitoring the radar closely and will inform of any delays or changes to the event. Please be aware it is humid today and hydrate before, during and after your run. A water bubbler is available in the Event Village to refill water bottles, free electrolyte samples are available from the Bulk Nutrients marquee and there are water stations on-course every 2K. See you at the event from 5:30pm this evening!

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

By Tram

Tram 58 “West Coburg to Toorak” from runs from William Street to the city centre every day, stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo. 

By Train

Trains run from the Upfield line every day, stopping at Melbourne Zoo’s own Royal Park Station.

Bus route 505 Moonee Ponds to Melbourne University stops outside the Melbourne Zoo. Go to the Public Transport Victoria website for more information. 

CAR PARKING

Parking is available at the Melbourne Zoo carpark off Elliot Avenue.

Parking is free after 5:00pm. Parking prior to 5:00pm is available at $2 for 5 hours. Please be aware of peak hour traffic congestion.

Overflow parking is available at the State Netball Hockey Centre, accessible via Brens Drive, off Elliot Avenue. The Event Village is a short 5 minute walk from here and parking is free.

ACCESS TO THE ZOO

Access into the Melbourne Zoo is only available to registered Sunset Series participants. Participants will need to stick to the event course. If you would like to wander around the zoo, you will need to purchase tickets through Melbourne Zoo and exit the zoo by 5pm when the gates close.

Spectators can cheer on participants at the start line and finish line which are both outside of the zoo, and join in the fun at the Event Village.
